Odyssey Shawl KAL
Join us at Brato Brewhouse + Kitchen on Wednesday, March 4 from 6-8pm to cast on the Odyssey Shawl by Joji Locatelli for a two-month KAL! After you cast-on, we will be having weekly meetups for the month of March & April on Friday evenings from 6-8pm to work on our Odyssey Shawls. Join us for this KAL and finish by the end of April and you will be entered to win a $20 JPKS giftcard*!
Odyssey is a crescent shaped shawl in 3 colors of medium-weight yarn. Medium weight means DK, or worsted, or even Aran! The good news is that you knit it up super fast. Each color section ends with a lace band that features striking big eyelets and wavy texture. It works with MANY yarn weights, and with ANY yarn, but we suggest using Malabrigo's new Dos Tierras! If you do plan to use Dos Tierras - see all the notes below!

Malabrigo will have some new colors coming out and we are getting more in if you want to wait and start closer to April. Join the KAL at any time during the two months!
You will need to make small adjustments because the pattern as written uses a US 10 needle. In order not to run out of yarn, you will want to make sure that your gauge, after washing and blocking, is 17 sts per 4 inches and the finished sample measures 62.5” wingspan and 17” deep. Malabrigo's Sample Knitter used a US 8 needle to achieve this gauge, so it is extremely important that you match this gauge in your swatch before starting your project.
*Prizes: You will be entered to win a $20 JPKS giftcard if you complete the wrap at the end of April (before or at our last meetup) and use at least one yarn bought at JPKS.
If you want to try and win something from Malabrigo - participants will need to use the hashtag #malabrigoKAL to post pictures across all social media channels in order to be eligible for prizes and of course, the garment has to be knit using Malabrigo Dos Tierras.
