07 Nov Chelsea, Queen of the Sky
We love JP. We especially love JP when crafters like Chelsea walk in our door. First came the phone call: very direct…”Do you carry Malabrigo?” “Yes.” “Do you have two skeins of Little Lovely?” “Yes.” How do I get to the shop by the Orange Line?” I told her (it’s easy, get off at StoneyBrook and walk all the way down Bolyston until you hit Centre and there we are). “Do you give a student discount?” “Yes.” And that was it.
A few hours later, in walks Chelsea in all of her glory. Yes, she is a wearing a freshly made sweater designed by our own local and insanely talented Ann Weaver, Tea Tray in the Sky (made with Cascade 220 and Malabrigo remnants). Her fabulous hat is a Target find (Albertus Swanepoel for Target). The bag? KimWhite Designs….made from deadstock upholstry fabric from a 1977 Ford Pinto (the year Chelsea was born, naturally). Sweaterguard, vintage from SOWA.
And last, but certainly not least, the fabulous (why does that word keep coming up?) Big Red Shrug Chelsea is making out of all that lovely luscious red/pink Malabrigo. Pattern is designed by Sarah Wilson (the “sexy knitter“) found by Chelsea in the inaugural issue of Knitting Today (Ravelled here).
Oh, and don’t forget to check out Chelsea’s very funny blog, AlpacaQueen. You won’t regret it.
Thanks, Chelsea, for being so very crafty (and fabulous)…
