We offer a variety of sewing, knitting, crochet, and embroidery classes for all levels. Please check back often, as new classes are added frequently. Don’t forget to register online for classes you are planning to take – classes fill up quickly! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us anytime.

At JP Knit & Stitch out motto is “a yarn & fabric shop with a community soul” which means…we LOVE special events, parties, birthdays (kids + adults), bridal showers, CD Release parties (yes, we did…the band was Seamstress and they rocked out in our fabric area), book signings, and you name it, we’ve probably hosted it. Contact us anytime to start planning your next event!

CLASS CANCELATION POLICY: You will receive a full refund if you cancel your class registration up to one week before the class start date. If you change or cancel your registration within one week of the start date, you will receive a class credit. If you cancel or change your registration within 24 hours of the start date, we cannot offer a refund or credit. This ensures that our teachers are fairly compensated for their time and that waitlisted students have the opportunity to register for sold out classes. Once a class starts, we do not offer make up classes for any reason. We reserve the right to cancel a class if enrollment drops below three students. We will hold a waitlist for classes that are full. If you are enrolled in a class, you will receive a 10% discount on materials.

Don’t see what you’re looking for? We also offer private lessons with our excellent teachers. Private lessons are $40 per hour and can help you learn a new skill or work on a specific project. To schedule a lesson, contact us with your availability and what you’d like to learn or work on. We’ll put you in touch with just the right teacher, who will schedule a lesson at a time that works for both of you.

Fall Classes!

Happy August world! We are in the throes of Fall planning here at the shop and have posted lots of classes and workshops, with more in the works. We’ve made some changes that should make our classes easier to navigate and more fun to take. A quick over view is below. We are more than excited about all the new yarns + fabrics + products we are sourcing for your crafting pleasure. It’s gonna be fun…keep checkin in!

First, we’ve changed the names of our beginning knitting classes, but kept the classes. Since our different knitting classes evolved individually, they each had a slightly different name. Beginning Knitting, Learn to Knit, Weekend Beginner Knitting; it was all a bit confusing. So now all of our beginning knitting classes have the same name: Knitting for All Levels, and tell you when they take place (whether it’s Wednesday Morning, Wednesday Evening, Saturday, or Sunday.) As you can tell from the title, these classes are designed for beginners, but welcoming to knitters of all skill levels (which also means no more separate alumni sections). Each teacher will still be putting their individual spin on their class, so check out the class description to read more about the beginner project for each class.

A bunch of our fall sewing classes are up! That includes a class on the April Rhodes Staple Dress and one on the Wiksten Tova Top, Beginning Embroidery and Beginning Quilting. We’re also adding a new intermediate level class. For those who have taken a beginning sewing class, Open Sewing: Beyond the Tote! is the perfect way to expand your sewing skills and work on a project of your choice.

There will be more. Beyond more classes–afterschool classes for kids in October, intermediate knitting classes covering all sorts of skills, and some more sewing and embroidery workshops–we’re got a slate of events planned. Summer fabrics are still rolling in (watch this space for pictures as soon as these goodies arrive). Plus, save the date: the Greater Boston Yarn Crawl, our big kick off for fall, is September 18th through the 21st, and we’ll have all sorts of yarns and events for you.

Summer Weaving

The weavers took over the shop this weekend and we loved having them! We were so impressed with what you can create with yarn scraps + picture frame + your color imagination. Stay tuned for October weaving classes!
