New Year – new crafting

Hey there. We are so happy to be back and into the New Year 2016! Hope all had a terrific holiday! I know for us in the shop, January brings with it a whole new crafting energy. People seem ready to embrace their own crafting practice after weeks and months of holiday gift crafting and giving. It’s the time to take on new, larger, longer -term projects to see us through our long – and mostly lovely – New England winter. It’s time to hunker down with a new knitting project, something that can grow and keep your lap warm! Think sweaters, blankets, large shawls. If you live in New England, you should be knitting (Tee-shirt slogan?)! What are you working on? I am working on a large shawl (yes, it’s the Drachenfels and yes, I am still working on it!!!) and I just put a quick mitten project on the needles – inspired by one of our JP Knit & Stitch friends (the Double Lined Mittens by Amanda Lilley in Malabrigo Arroyo). Stay tuned right here for more on that project and sneaks peaks into what other JP Knit & Stitch staffers are making. xo genevieve

I’m still working on my Drachenfels, too! I had to make a hat for my daughter in the middle, though. She needed a hat — and I needed to prove to myself that I could still finish something! (Why is this taking me longer than the FunFunFun Shawl?)
