2017 Greater Boston Yarn Crawl

It’s time to start getting excited for the annual Greater Boston Yarn Crawl at JP Knit & Stitch AND – new this year – our BRAND NEW (we moved!) downtown Boston farm yarn Stall New England Farm to Fiber at the Boston Public Market!

If you’ve got in on the fun before, you know this means we host some very special raffle prizes and giveaways that you definitely don’t want to miss out on. If this is your first year, you’re in for a treat!

Please see HERE for participating shops in the Greater Boston Yarn Crawl 2017. We will have GBYC Passports available for sale in our JP shop starting on Tuesday, 9/12. This year, all proceeds from the sale of the passports ($5 each) will go to a non profit of the participating shop’s choice. Our nonprofit this year is Hyde Square Task Force, which offers area youths after school programming, mentoring, and leadership opportunities. *Remember, only GBYC Passport holders can participate in the Grand Prize Raffle (worth $200).

September 14: Dirty Water DyeWorks Trunk Show 4 – 8PM

Stephanie from Dirty Water Dyeworks, a local indie dyer darling and great friend of the shop, will be here with her beloved yarn (named in honor of inspiring strong women in her family) Thursday afternoon & evening.

September 15: Lady Dye Fiber Arts Trunk show and Podcast 6 – 8PM

Diane Ivey founder and creative director of Lady Dye Fiber Arts will be hosting a trunk show and a live podcast of her new podcast on diversity in the crafting industry.

September 16 + 17: Wales Street Design House Trunk Show 10:30 – 2:30 Saturday and 12:30 – 3:30 Sunday

Melissa is an amazing new indie dyer on the local scene AND has some of the most adorable hand sewn project bags in different handy sizes.


During the GBYC, all farm yarns will be 10% off in our downtown Boston Public Market stall located at 100 Hanover street in the Boston Public Market.

September 15: 6 – 7pm Pattern Release Party with New England Knitting

Join us for a fun evening with the folks at New England Knitting as we launch our newest pattern collaboration – the MinTill Shawl pattern. All five of the patterns in this collection highlighting the beauty of natural New England local farm yarns will all be on display along with special discounts for the KITS, a raffle, and refreshments.

September 17: 11 – 1pm Trunk Show and Book Signing with Beatrice Perron Dahl from Maine Knits

Book Signing and Trunk Show with Beatrice Perron Dahlen, Maine based pattern designer who designs under the name Thread & Ladle for her newly published book of essays and knitting patterns inspired by the natural beauty of Maine – MAINE KNITS. We will have copies of the book on hand to sign as well as a trunk show of garments from the book.  All farm yarns will be 10% off during the trunk show.
