  • The basics of using a sewing machine
  • How to iron as part of the sewing process.
  • How to cut and work with fabric

We will be making Cupcake Pillows!

The first class will be spent on getting to know the sewing machine: How does it work?
The second week we will finish our pillows and decorate our “cupcakes”.

This is an opportunity to be creative and have fun while learning to sew!

Materials:
You will need 1/2 yard flannel fabric (this is for the cupcake liner)
One square of felt (this is for the cake part)
One square of felt in a different color ( this is the icing)
One yard of cotton fabric for the back of the pillow with coordinating thread.
You can also purchase assorted colors of the felt squares ( think decorating cupcakes)
Would you like to put a pom-pom on top (cherry) then you need to purchase some yarn. You can ask a staff member to direct you to the unicorn tails 🙂
Fiber fill to stuff the pillow with

Tools and notions will be provided in class however if you have a sewing kit you are welcome to bring it along. You can also purchase a JP Knit & Stitch sewing kit.
