NuDay Syria Drive: Donate your stash for a good cause!
Starts: February 24, 2017 6:00 pm
4 Fridays 6:00PM – 8:00PM
Meets on: February 3, February 10, February 17, and February 24
We are dedicating all of our February Stitch Nights to our NuDay Syria Drive.
NuDay Syria is a non-profit organization focused on bringing humanitarian aid inside Syria and to help displaced Syrians in the bordering areas around Syria. Everything you donate will go toward their Social Business program. This program enables women by providing them with the tools they need to make goods to sell. Many of these women have become sole providers for families for the first time in their lives.
Items to Donate:
Fabric (fat quarter or larger), thread, needles, pins, safety pins, thread snips, scissors/pinking shears, quilt batting, yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, embroidery supplies, and any other sewing or knitting notions.
As an added bonus with your donation we are asking for notes to the receiver! There are translators who can read these messages to the woman that receives your generous donation. All love notes, poems, drawings, etc. are welcome!
So on your way over to Stitch Night make sure you grab that yarn you haven’t touched for three years or your 3rd pair of size eights that you never need. Clear out your craft clutter in time for spring cleaning and give it to someone in need! 🙂
We also want to thank Johannah Haney for reaching out and helping us organize this wonderful drive. For more information on how the donations are traveling click here. To see Johannah’s sewing machine fundraiser click here. To see the fundraiser to Johannah’s Syrian refugee family click here.
