One Day Workshop: Learn to Sew! Crash Course

Starts: June 4, 2017 2:00 pm

Sunday, 2:00PM – 5:00PM

Meets on: June 4

Instructor: Crista Jaeckel

Level: Absolute Beginner. No sewing experience required.

Cost: $45 plus materials

We’ll cover the basics of sewing in this single introductory session: you’ll learn about the anatomy of a sewing machine; learn basics like how to wind a bobbin, thread your machine, and troubleshoot tension; and you’ll leave class with a simple, quick-to-sew envelope-back pillow. This is a very introductory course that will cover method as much as inspiration and resources: at the end of class, you’ll receive a handout with a listing of some of the best sewing resources for everything from quilting to garment stitching, and from blogs to books.

  • Come to class with your prewashed fabric (1 1/2 yards of a single fabric, or 3/4 yards each of two contrasting fabrics)
  • Matching thread
  • Pillow form
  • We will provide the sewing machines, but if you have one with which you would like to get acquainted, please bring it in!

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
