The Alphabet Sampler

Starts: April 1, 2017 10:15 am

4 Saturdays, 10:15am-1:15pm

Meets on: April 1, April 8, April 22, April 29 (No class April 15)

Instructor: Kate Herron

Level: Experienced Beginner. Some experience required; this is a great class for students who have taken a embroidery class. Students should be comfortable with basic embroidery stitches.

Cost: $150 plus materials. Registered students receive a 10% discount on materials at JP Knit & Stitch

In this four week course, you will learn 29+ stitches and stitch combos as you stitch up the KHG Arts Alphabet Sampler. We’ll start with the basics and move on toward more advanced stitches and finishing techniques in each session; it’s a great project for beginners and intermediate level stitchers alike.

There’s lots of room to experiment with color so it makes a great piece to keep as well as building your stitch vocabulary to apply to other projects. The finished sampler will fit a standard 11 x 17 inch frame and highlights hand lettered fonts with an updated vintage flair.

Stitching outside of class: Class time is used for technique tutorials, individual troubleshooting, as well time to work on the project itself. Since handwork is naturally a slower process than machine work, students can expect to complete elements of the project each week in between meetings in order to complete a finished or close-to-finished project within the scope of the course.
