Do you offer classes?
Yes, lots of them! We offer regular sessions of introductory classes in knitting, crochet, embroidery, sewing, and quilting for adults and kids alike, as well as intermediate classes and special workshops on a variety of topics including dressmaking, fabric printing, needlepoint, jeans, tapestry weaving, spinning, and more. Most classes run on weeknights and weekends, but we do have a few daytime sessions as well. New sessions are continually posted on our website’s calendar and you can register online too!

Can you help me with my knitting/sewing/embroidery project? Do you offer private lessons?
Our staff is happy to take a look at any project you’ve got questions about (and we love seeing what you’re working on!). Sometimes it may be something that requires more time, in which case we are happy to be able to offer drop-in sessions as well as private lessons to provide you with one-on-one expertise. Just send an email to with information about your project and we will put you in touch with one of our lovely and talented teaching staff.

What is your class cancellation policy?
You will receive a full refund if you cancel your class registration up to one week before the class start date. If you change or cancel your registration within one week of the start date, you will receive a class credit. If you receive a class credit, you have four months from the time that it is issued to use the credit. If you cancel or change your registration within 24 hours of the start date, we cannot offer a refund or credit. This ensures that our teachers are fairly compensated for their time and that waitlisted students have the opportunity to register for sold out classes. Once a class starts, we do not offer make up classes for any reason. We reserve the right to cancel a class if enrollment drops below three students. We will hold a waitlist for classes that are full. If you are enrolled in a class, you will receive a 10% discount on materials.

What is your return policy?
We offer merchandise credit for any returns on yarn and knitting needles in their original packaging only. We are unable to accept returns or exchanges on fabric, notions, books, wound yarn, etc.

Do you offer gift certificates?
Absolutely! Our gift certificates can be purchased in-store and in our online shop.

Can you place a custom order for me?
We’re happy to place custom orders for our customers. We can order specific colors and amounts of any yarn we carry. It usually takes about two weeks to get it in, but that can vary depending on shipping and availability. We don’t accept any payment until we know the manufacturer has it in stock and it’s arrived on our doorstep. That’s when we’ll give you a call and set the yarn aside for up to two weeks for you.

Can I park in the CVS lot next door?
Yes, JPKS customers are more than welcome to park in this lot. There is also some street parking available. Further info about getting to our shop can be found right here.

Is the shop space available for hosting special events?
JP Knit & Stitch is a yarn & fabric shop with a community soul which means…we LOVE special events, parties, birthdays (kids + adults), bridal showers, CD Release parties (yes, we did…the band was Seamstress and they rocked out in our fabric area), book signings, and you name it, we’ve probably hosted it. Contact us anytime to start planning your next event!

Do you do upholstery or tailoring?
We do not offer upholstery or tailoring services. We do however have the raw materials and can often recommend a private lesson with one of our talented teaching staff to help you with your project.
