Fresh Arrivals: June 2017

Whether you’re packing for your commute, a weekend getaway, a day at the beach, or a full-on vacation, we’ve got what you need for that tote bag full of goodness to keep you occupied on the road, in the air, and plenty more for when those precious hours you’ve carved out for yourself!

Embroidery kits from Megan at Studio MME have just arrived and with their uber simple stitches, they make a great take-and-stitch project with all the materials you need ready to use. For the sewists out there enjoying staycations, we’re now proudly carrying patterns from the wonderful Christine Haynes and have also stocked up on new releases from Tilly and the Buttons (you’ll want to check out all these fun variations on the Zadie dress being sewn up across the internets, if you haven’t already!)

Lovely tonal solids, speckled, and crazy fun color combos continue to arrive from Manos del Uruguay yarns because, well, we really can’t resist the quality of their color palette! Socks make for pretty perfect summery projects since they are small, portable, require a predictable amount of yarn, and can be made up with basic patterns embellished and altered to your liking.

We can’t forget to mention all the lawns we’ve got in from Heather Ross’ Sleeping Porch line. You can sneak a peek at the whole bunch on our Instagram. If you aren’t familiar with Heather Ross’ illustrated fabrics, you’ll need to come check these out for yourself to see the nuanced character of her line and color. The great thing about having her designs printed on lawns is that this substrate will make supple and light summer quilts for epic sunny afternoon naps AND swishy, breezy summer frocks too!

Taking your craftastic projects to the skies? Be sure to pack a pair of TSA/EU safe travel scissors! They’ve got a small blade and fold up to a clip your yarn and floss tails with the utmost convenience.

And of course, we’ve got a nice big stack of the latest periodicals and how-to booklets from the craft world that delivers big on inspiration, community connections, and tutorial support. New issues of Knit Wit, the 5TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION of Pom Pom, and destination-focused By Hand are all on our shelves (and don’t you worry–the latest issue of Making Magazine is on it’s way!)

Stop in soon and visit us on your way home from work or on your way out of town–we always love to help you pick out just what YOU need to bring your idea to life!
