About Us

Makers are our heart and soul.

JP Knit & Stitch is a Boston-area yarn shop for the modern maker.

A few things we love: the color pink, glitter, and helping you pick out your next project.

Rebecca, the owner, is a knitter, sewist, crocheter, and is always interested in learning a new skill to add to her toolbox. She has also taken up dying yarn, so be sure to check out WoolRx on the site. Under her leadership, the shop focuses on bringing indie-dyed yarns from all over the globe into the hands of makers, while also stocking all of your favorite staple yarns.

More about the JPKS staff:

Rebecca Long - Proprietress

Rebecca, owner of JP Knit & Stitch, loves the art of making! She has been creating since learning to sew with her mom at the age of 6, woodworking with her Dad at 7, crocheting at 13, and later fell in love with knitting at 35. Rebecca originally worked in the corporate world — a fifteen-year career focused on wealth management and investment structuring in New Jersey, New York, and Boston — before deciding to stay home with her three sweet children, Cooper, Madyson, and Sydney.

When not at the shop, you can find Rebecca with her husband, Jeff, chasing after their kiddos and doggies (Molly & Gus) and competing in sprint and half-Ironman distance triathlons... a family that “Tri’s” together, stays together!  She is also passionate about reading, trying to find balance, advocating for kids that have Language Based Learning Disabilities, dyeing her own yarn, and of course, KNITTING.

Jill Thompson Beach - Manager of Operations

Jill is a Kentucky girl living her best life on the East Coast! Jill started knitting a few years ago and has been knitting almost every day since. In addition to knitting, she loves traveling, reading, and hanging out with her two dogs, Evie and Mae. She lives in Salem, Massachusetts, with her husband, Aaron, an actual scientist. As a child, Jill learned how to sew, quilt, and crochet from her Granny (who is still an avid crafter at the age of 91!). When Jill has some free time, she loves to take hikes with Aaron and the dogs, explore cute New England towns, and make her own clothing.

Jill is also a new knitwear designer focusing on cozy, approachable, enjoyable, and carefully considered designs. Her designs remind you to take pleasure in the love and joy of making. You can find them here or on Ravelry here.
