amirisu is a print and online magazine that launched in August, 2012. The founders, Tokuko and Meri, met through Ravelry in 2011, and decided to start a magazine together after a few lunches and a few cups of coffee. They were both frustrated by lack of modern and elegant knitwear patterns that they can actually wear to work, and thought that knitters in other countries, not just in Japan, had the same frustration. Thus born the bilingual knitting magazine, amirisu

 

Amirisu - Issue 21, Autumn/Winter 2020

Issue 21 features twelve knitwear designs that will inspire you with texture and color, created by some of our most favorite designers from Japan and abroad.

In addition, this issue offers a special feature: From Land to Needles - Tracing our yarns back to their sources.  Meri interviews the founders of two yarn companies -- Nomadnoos and Woolfolk -- working to make the world a better place through ethical, sustainable, and regenerative business practices.
