"Ikigai" is the Japanese philosophy of having a source of value in one's life that makes everything worthwhile. It's your reason to get out of bed in the morning. Ikigai is often represented as the center of a Venn diagram overlapping what you love, what you are good at, what the world needs and what you can be paid for.
What is Ikigai Fiber? I have been fascinated with Japanese crafting for many years and have been fortunate to take workshops on Sashiko, boro and indigo dyeing. Since I am 100% Japanese, I feel a profound connection to the history, culture and social value of handcrafting in Japan. I hope you join me in exploring Japanese-inspired handcrafts and maybe you'll find your Ikigai too in the process. XOXO Pam Powers
